Prophecies Concerning the Church

The prophet Daniel interpreted a dream for King Nebuchadnezzar. [Daniel Chapter
2]. In the dream, the king saw a statue made of different material.
Its head was of gold, which represented the Babylonian Empire. Its breast
and arms were silver, which represented the Medo-Persian Empire. Its belly
and thighs were brass, which represented the Hellenistic Empire of Alexander the
Great. Its legs were of iron with its feet and toes of iron and clay.
This represented the Roman Empire. (Notice that the legs of a statue are
naturally divided-just as the Roman Empire divide into two parts.) Daniel
prophesized that "In the days of these kings, the God of
Heaven will set up a kingdom which will never end" [Daniel 2: 44-45].
Thus, the Lord has already established His Kingdom. It was established
during the time of the Roman Empire. This kingdom was established on the
Day of Pentecost immediately following His death, burial, and resurrection.
Why is this important? Because It was God who determined
when the Church was to be established; it was God who determined who was to head
of the Church (Christ); and is was God who established who would have authority
over the Church (Christ).
